Resolved Question: Bottomless swimming pool?

I once heard there was a "bottomless" public swimming pool in Tampa, Florida back in the 60's. From what I know I guessing it was located at or close Lowry Park. I was told there was a whirlpool like effect in the middle and there was a safety net about 12 feet down to prevent swimmers from being taken away to wherever it guide. I can't seem to find anything on it. Anyone have any recollections or a link in which I might receive some more info.
